An Indian model and actress married to novelist Salman Rushdie, Padma Lakshmi is best remembered for her memorable cameo in Star Trek as an imperious princess. She also starred in Glitter with Mariah Carey and Boom with Amitabh Bachchan. Her cookbook Easy Exotic as awarded Best First Book at the 1999 World Cookbook Awards at Versailles.
